About Me

Hello! My name is Andrea Yon, and I am the 8th grade ELA teacher here at Williston Elko Middle School. I have been teaching at WEMS for 8 years and love the family that I've built here. I have a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education English and a Masters Degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment. It was always my dream to be a teacher, and I get to live that daily. 

 

I love teaching ELA because reading is my passion. I own more books than I can count and my favorite thing to do on a rainy day is curl up with a good book and a cup of coffee. My desire is to help my students see how wonderful reading is and to inspire them to read more. 

 

I am originally from Wagener, SC though I now reside in Pelion, SC. Though I don't have any kids of my own, I have nieces and nephews that I love dearly. They keep me on my toes. 

 

I enjoy reading, journaling, binge watching Netflix or Hulu, playing board/card games, and volleyball. I love owls, pens, crocs, books, and coffee.
