My name is Alex Wright. I am an AVID instructor for WEMS. This is my 1st year as a teacher. Before that, I was a DSS case manager for 5 years with Aiken County and Richland County DSS. I was a juvenile correctional officer from 2006-2011. I have been coaching football for over 12 years from schools such as Aiken High, Brookland-Cayce High, Midland Valley High School, Orangeburg-Calhoun Preparatory Academy(OC Tech), North High School and Gibbes Middle School. I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Science from Allen University in 2006 and received my Master's of Education in Secondary Education from Grand Canyon University in 2020.

I also been married for 10 years to my beautiful wife, Tarlesha Wright. I also have two children (Alex J. Wright and Grace Wright).

My passion for teaching came from my aunt in which I taught one of her students to read while I was in the 11th grade. I'm excited about providing my services to my children through education. I will ensure to bring out the best in my children with various challenges along with the support they will need. The best is yet to come.
